Sugar Nellie fairy

Happy weekend my crafting peeps! I got a chance to make a card this week just for fun and I chose to follow the The Sugar Bowl challenge which is a sketch with the option to use turquoise.

My embellishment is some maya road snowflakes that  I painted with the Viva Decor 3D paint in silver, I added some turquoise jewels to the centers of them. My sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmies Holiday Trinkets. She is colored with copics and Shinhan touch twin markers and I have added some Glamour Dust in crystal to the edges of her dress and I put a light coat of diamond stickles to her wings. The memory box die on the side is Frosty Border. Ok, that is it for me today. Lots to do so off to craft for me!

New release at SCACD!

YAY time for another exciting SCACD Stamp Release!!! SCACD is thrilled to bring you the follow up to the super sweet Eyes of Beauty and Dreams Collection with Newest Eyes of Adventure and Fables Collections. We definitely think the Eyes have it!!! These eyes just capture your heart and even better each stamp comes with an accessory image!!! Today I get to introduce you to "Her Majesty's Eyes" and "What Big Eyes" from the Eyes of Fables collection. If you are following along in the blog hop you should have arrived here from Lori's blog and all images are available at SCACD. You can purchase all of the images here and for all of my international friends you can grab them from Quixotic Paperie

My first card uses the Her Majesty's Eyes and she comes with the heart and angel winds stamp in the corner.

I have used Bo Bunny papers Serenade along with one of the latest dies from SCACD in the upper right hand corner, this is Classic Timepiece and I dabbed a little Viva Decor 3D paint on it. I think I might even go back and a little silver to make it a bit more vintage looking.

My second card features the "What Big Eyes" image and I have used the sentiment that is included with her, I love that each image has its own little accessory stamp!

Papers are by Glitz Designs and although I don't see this particular pad in stock anymore SCACD has lots of other to choose from. I tried to make it look like she was coming out of the woods and used a diecut pine tree and some flowers and a mushroom for the "woodland look". Of course you can barely SEE the tree because of them, but heck, it was a good idea. I have also used the Classic corner dies and again, covered it with a little bit of Walnut Brown Viva Decor 3D paint. I have also used it around the edges of my sentiment, it gives it a little texture and finished look. I have to say, this is my favorite color of the 3D paint right now, great for the fall colors we are all using and to add a worn look to things. Both images were colored with a combination of copic markers and Shinhan Touch Twin markers and I used some stickles around the border of my image. Ok, make sure you join us to see all of the new images being released and next on your journey is my good friend Melanie

I heart powder

Well, this image is certainly not me cause I can't ski worth a darn, drink hot chocolate and watch other ski, absolutely, but not ski myself! This is I heart powder by Victoria Case for SCACD and she is absolutely adorable.

Papers are Basic Grey Plumeria and she is colored with both copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. The flowers and ribbon are from my stash and I have outlined the image with Diamond stickles and I have added Glamour dust glitter in Crystal to her cuffs on her boots, jacket and hat. I have also added the new Ornate Doorknob die colored with the Viva Decor 3D paint in Silver. Ok, winter is just around the corner so time to start purchasing a few winter themed stamps and SCACD is the place to get not only exclusive images but great products at a great price!

Card for dad

Ok guys, as a lot of you know my dad has been through quite a lot the past year, first a heart attack last Christmas then diagnosed with cancer a few months ago but he is a trooper and doing well at this time. I hate making guy cards but wanted to do something to let him know how proud I am that he keeps trudging along through all of this.

Both of my grandparents on my fathers side are American Indian and my dad loves anything related to our heritage so I thought this image by Papelitos would be perfect plus they are having an "Anything Goes" challenge so bonus! The inside says "Can still kick butt!"  Colored with copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers, the papers are Simple Stories Harvest Lane and the little paper buttons are a gift from my buddy Elaine. Ok, hope you enjoyed something a little different from me today and that you all have a wonderful week. Fall is definitely in the air around here so I will be pulling out some sweaters real soon!

I love this paper! It is Jovial by Basic Grey and I love the deeper colors on it. I am trying to do more darker colors as I think the contrast with the image looks nice. Anyways, I have colored my image with both copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers, my nestie is the picot circle and the lace is prima from my stash. My snowflakes are kraft paper covered with Glamour Dust glitter, I think it makes them look a little softer then pure white. I have chosen to use Angel Lulu with her little sis on my card today.
I wanted it to be nice and bright and I am pretty sure that happened! Sorry if I blinded anyone with the papers. The paper is some older Xmas papers, and I have used Glamour dust on their wings, Crystal on Lulu and Gold on her sis. The wreath in the corner is by Memory Box and is called Frostyville and I do believe it is going to see a lot of use this winter. My border is a Just Rite stamp I heat embossed on some kraft cardstock and of course, stickles on the edge of my card. They are colored with a combo of copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. Alright, that is it for me today. Please make sure to check out everyone's blog and leave us some comments for your chance to win some Lulu's for yourself!

Trinket time!

Happy Wednesday everyone and not only are we half way thru the work week but today also marks the beginning of the latest Kraftin Kimmie release. Woohoo! Today we are showing you samples using the new Holiday Trinkets designed by the one and only Nicole Aspinall.

I have used one of the Spellbinders ornament dies to frame the Trinket and a poinsettia die to make the poinsettia in the corner. The leaves are from my local craft store. The paper is a  new release called Simple Stories Handmade Holidays and I have stickled the heck out of the edges of both the Trinket and the ornament die. Ok, make sure to comment as you go along, the inlinkz is below so you can check out everyone's blog and you will be entered into a drawing to win the new Trinket release!

Come Hither Eyes

Good morning everyone! I made a card up this weekend with one of the Eyes of Beauty stamps called Come Hither Eyes over the weekend and wanted to show it to you.

I have stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and she is colored with a mix of copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. I made the sky background myself and used some white paint I had on hand for the clouds and the fabulous new Viva Decor 3D Paint in blue and violet for some accents. The papers are MME The Sweetest thing Bluebell and I also used the new ornate hinge die colored with the silver Viva Decor 3D Paint. The flowers are from WOC and the little butterfly tile is from the  Printery Art Clay tile set but Susana has other designs available too. And I made the butterfly accent beside the image using the Prickley Pear mini buttefly stamp set and matching dies. I stamped the image with Versamark Ink, heat set it and then colored it with the luminarte primary elements mixed in with some of the acrylic glaze. Whew! That is a lot of product but that just goes to show how much is available at SCACD! And they don't get any nicer than Susana, just sayin!

Paper piecing challenge

Woohoo it's the weekend! I have been on vacation this week and although I didn't get everything done on my "to do" list I got quite a bit accomplished so that is always a good feeling.

This weeks challenge at Kraftin Kimmies is being hosted by the sassy Jessie and she wants to see some paper piecing on your card. This is always fun to do and I don't use it often enough so I was happy to join in.

I have used some foil papers I have had in my stash for quite awhile and just never knew what to do with them. The image is Natsuko and she is on a spellbinder die and also layered over a doily, I really like how it looks. A butterfly from Kays Kreative Korner and some flowers from WOC. I wanted to add a sentiment but wasn't sure who I wanted to give this card too so I am holding off for now. Ok, lets see how creative you can get and please make sure to use a Kraftin Kimmie image to be eligible to win the image Jessie chose for on her card this week.

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Happy Wednesday my blogging friends! Today I wanted to give you an update on the wonderful, beautiful and stunning Viva Decor 3D paints available at SCACD. I have colored several different things with them, metal, canvas, paper flowers and have even painted clouds with them. I have tried to take close up pictures to capture the color and the shimmer for you.

This is red on a paper flower.

This is purple.
This is moss green, light green, walnut and silver. The last leaf is walnut with some gold dabbed on top.

This is gold.

This is rose.

And these are some samples I did of color combos on some Prima resist canvas.

And also a cloud background I did using the blue. I hope you can see the shimmer in it.

I also wanted to show you the difference between copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. My friend Lisa was asking me about them and I have to say, in my opinion, they are equally as good. SCACD also carries them in groups of 3 coordinating colors so you get a dark, medium and light shade that correspond so it is a great way to get started plus they are less expensive than copics. I know they are also introducing refills soon too.

And finally, I have a card that I used some of the Shinhan markers on and I wanted to show you the versatility of different papers. These are Glitz Joyeux Noel papers but I wanted to go for a fall color scheme. I have also used one of the Uptown Girls, Peeking out window stamps for my image.
The flower on my card is from the flower grab bag available at SCACD also. I have also added some glimmer to the flowers with a spica glitter pen although it doesn't show up on the card but adds a little something irl.  So lots of goodies for you to check out and with Christmas on its way they would be great for cards or on your wish list!

Kraft paper at Kraftin Kimmies!

Hi everyone! I hope you have enjoyed our latest Kraftin Klubhouse release, we have had a lot of fun coloring all the images up. And today is also the start of a new challenge and which I am hosting. I decided to make it easy and use something I find myself using more and more of, Kraft cardstock. Soo this weeks challenge is to use Kraft cardstock on your creation but to be eligible to win you MUST use a Kraftin Kimmie image.

My card for today is using the newest image from the Three Wishes release, the fortune teller.

The papers are Serenade by Bo Bunny and they are divine. She is colored with a combination of copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers, flowers are Prima and WOC and the key is from MS. I don't think you can tell but the black ribbon behind her is a double layer of ribbon roses, pretty irl! Ok, make sure you check out the inspiration on the other girls blogs and play along for you chance to win the image I am using today!
