SCACD's Monster of a blog hop!

Today SCACD releases fun and fresh stamps from the Susana Loves Stamps Collections!!! We start off with the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set which harbors the cutest little Curiosities with matching sentiments. These are Fab and definitely year around fun!!! The second Set are four wonderful little ladies that make up The Little Sassy Crew. Check 'em out- they are the gals that have a sweetness and attitude factor that are off the charts!!! We are also introducing a fun little set of Mixed Media houses called M’s Place that makes them a must have for those that love cute in their Mixed Media.
So grab a cup of coffee (or tea)  and enjoy the ride!!! You should have arrived here from the awesome Alex and if you get lost the entire list for the blog hop is right here.

My first image uses one of the Little Sassy crew called Little Lily. She is sooo adorable!

Papers are Echo Park Graceful, colored with a combo of copics and Shinhan markers. I have used a rosette die and some felt for the flowers and my Epiphany crafts round dome maker for my accents. The image was cut out using the Spellbinders label 17 die and a little distress ink on the edges.

My second card features our new monster line called The Oddly Sweet Curiosities set and my little critter is called Ever Have...

and here is the inside sentiment which is included with the image.
Well, we have all been there I am sure! I have used various elements from the new M's Place line which includes the tree, bird, clouds and birdhouse images on my card. My poor little kitty is also popped up some pop dots for some dimension. Alright, next on the hop is the wonderful Chris and don't forget for all of you international peeps you can also purchase this stamp line at Quixotic Paperie.

Love me some Stamping Bella!

More than halfways to another weekend and it is suppose to be a hot one around here. But that is what makes summer summer right? I have colored up a cute image from Stamping Bella called Ida Lulu for this weeks challenge.

She is being a good girl and protecting herself from that sun with her adorable parasol. My ribbon is actually pink but is photographing red so sorry if it looks wonky on there. The Happy Birthday sentiment in the corner is also from Stamping Bella. Colored with copics and Shinhan markers, paper is Pretty Party by Crate Paper which I got from SCACD and which is also on sale right now, love the vintage look of those papers yet still have a lot of color in them. Be sure to come back tomorrow, there is something cute coming up and you won't want to miss it!

Howe Sweet Home

Hi everyone! I have another cute card I made with a stamp from Eat Cake Graphics called Maple Lane which I thought could be used to welcome a new neighbor, congrats on buying a new home etc.

I have used a Maya Road chipboard button and covered it with some paper then added a cream colored rose on top for a little accent. Maybe it can indicate that lots of flowers will bloom at this home, yeah, that is what I'm going with! Ok, off to get ready for work, enjoy your day and be safe!

To all of us

Good Morning everyone! It is a beautiful Sunday morning here in Pennsylvania, I am sitting on the front porch listening to the birds and watching the sun come up. Doesn't get much better that this unless I add a big glass of sweet tea to it! My card today is to "celebrate" getting older. I mean, it is a good thing to have another birthday but it does have its consequences...

This image is by Eat Cake Graphics and with my birthday being last month, Elaine's
was yesterday and Patty's next month I thought this was a good time to use this image and sentiment. The image is called Cereal and Middle Age and the sentiment is just called Middle Age, no further explanation needed huh? Alright, enjoy the rest of your weekend and make sure to check back on Friday for a special release from SCACD!

Hot fun in the summertime...

Are ya' singing that song now? Well our challenge this week at Kraftin Kimmie's is being hosted by our lovely and funny Sandie and she would like to see the theme of "Summertime" on your project.

I have used one of my fav stamps, Eleanor, is she not vintage beachy or what? Colored with a combo of copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers, paper is Kaiserkraft "Fine and Sunny" and a flower made with the Hibiscus die from MFT. The sentiment is from Kimmies Mermaid sentiments. Sorry about the grounding on the image, had to cut if off to make it fit the die and no time to fix it tonite. Ok, quick question guys, I always enlarge my pictures for my blog but was wondering if perhaps they are too big for you? A little bit too much in your face or do you prefer them that size?  Alright, time to play along for your chance to win the image Sandie has used this week. And don't forget about the Frugal Friday specials you can get but only thru Sunday!

Girls just Wanna Have Fun!

Isn't that blog title true? I know I always try to have a positive attitude and have fun no matter the situation. But this particular title is the name of one of the new sets being released from Kraftin Kimmie designed by Emilie Goulet. The other set is "Smells like Teen Spirit" and is a set of teenage boys.

I love to read so this image really hit home for me. Papers are ummm, I don't remember and I can't seem to find the paper pad sorry! Some paper daisies and a heart image popped up for dimension. Ok, again you need to check out all of the Krafty girls, not only for some awesome inspiration but for your chance to win one of the new sets!

More SCACD projects!

Hi everyone! So what did you think about the new release from SCACD? I know it is making me think outside of what I normally do but I don't think we can really grow as artists unless we allow ourselves to do something a little different occasionally, right?

For today I have altered a small peg hook I picked up in the clearance section at my local craft store.

I painted the background with Pomegranite silks, stamped the Solid blank canvas woman after painting the stamp with the same silk and as you can see it is somewhat sheer but picks up the detail nicely. I have also used the sentiment Makes me Stronger which you get for free when you buy the entire collection. I have inked the edges of all of my elements with some vintage photo distress ink and used one of the new Classic Corners dies by SCACD and embossed it with some gold embossing powder. A silk flower in the corner and all done. Take a look around your home and see if you can't find something to alter, if it is a free container what have you go to lose?

A little bit of lavender...

Well all I can say is I am on a roll cause I have made another card, just cause I wanted too. I have received several Sugar Nellie stamps from my friend Elaine and I love the fairies the best so I inked one up today to play along in their current challenge which is a sketch with an option to use purple.

She has two different colors of clear Stickles on her wings, both Diamond and Stardust although you can't tell the difference in the photo, paper is by Memory Box and the rose is Wild Orchid Crafts.
The lovely pearls are another gift for Elaine and since this image is so cute I deemed her worthy of the pearls. I am also entering this into the Ribbon Girls challenge which is to use ribbon or lace, that was a no brainer for me! Enjoy the rest of your evening!

Saturated Canary bookmark

Well, the beginning of another week and back to work tomorrow for me. I have truly enjoyed my time off, vacations are a wonderful thing! Today I have made a card for a friend of mine who was just diagnosed with breast cancer (hugs Jacy!).

The image I have used is called "Boobie" and was a freebie from Saturated Canary awhile ago. The challenge this week for them is to make a bookmark and I thought that would also be perfect for her, now to just find a book to suit her funny personality! I am also asking all of my blogging buddies not only to keep Jacy in your thoughts but a prayer for my dad who is going in for a biopsy of his lung on Tuesday. He had a heart attack Christmas Day and now the possibility of cancer is in his future. He has recovered well from the heart attack and I am a firm believer in the power of prayer so thanks in advance to everyone who sends a little prayer skyward for him and my family.

Anything but a card...

Woohoo, it's the weekend! Go weekend, go weekend! You need to move your arms in that circle kinda thing while saying that by the way. The challenge this week for Kraftin Kimmie's is "Anything but a card" and our hostess with the mostess is Angie and she is using Miss Information so make sure you play along to have a chance to win this stamp.

I have made a small journal, just something to jot ideas down in as I am blog surfing. I always come across something neat, just a little touch I find interesting and think "I will remember that" well apparently getting older also affects the memory cause I rarely do remember that idea!  I have used one of the new fairies from the Flirty Fairies 1 set.

I have added some flowers in the corner and some lace along the edge. My coloring of the flower is actually more red irl, just photographing pink for some reason. This was just a dollar journal I picked up at Michaels a couple of weeks ago. Alright, hope everyone has a productive but relaxing weekend and I am really interested to see your creations, will have to mark some more ideas down in my new journal! Oh, and the Frugal Friday specials are Gaia, Talullahbelle, Donna, Partridge Family, What's Up Gnomie and Dolly the Dolphin.....all 40-50% off!

Release day at SCACD

Here at SCACD we've been "die"ing to mix things up! So, this month we have the launch of two awesome new Collections.
First is a fantastic new line of dies. Susana has collaborated on a collection of dies with a timeless, classic feel. Delicate and beautiful, the diecuts from these high quality wafer thin metal dies will be featuring on your projects for years to come!
Second is a wonderful new direction for SCACD. Susana is following her heart with a new line of Mixed Media stamps. For those of you who are new to the concept, Mixed Media is a style that embraces creativity and experimentation. Let SCACD take you on a new creative adventure with the Blank Canvas Collection. From the beginner to the mixed media enthusiast, these stamps will have the creative juices well and truly flowing!
Each set in the collection comprises looks, perfect for mixing it up with different techniques. Use the elements set to enhance the blank canvas silhouettes, or use them on their own for gorgeous effects.
In addition there are two fabulous set of word outlines, ready to be customized however you like! Color them in, doodle, zentangle, paper piece - go wherever your creativity takes you.
Mix it up and most importantly - HAVE FUN!

To join in on the hop you should have arrived here from Chris' blog and I know she has awesome stuff to show you, she can do mixed media like nobody's business!

First up is my card using the new "Solid blank canvas woman" and one of the set of three "Wings" stamps. Here is the link for the new Blank Canvas Collection Stamps

I have stamped my image on some lovely dp with a  simple background so that the stamps themselves really stand out. The image and the new "SELF" stamp (they come in a set of four ) are stamped in vintage photo distress ink and then I painted over the woman image with Luminarte silk "Pomegranite" and then I painted some of the "Solar Gold" on the side of her. When they blended it almost creates a reddish/deep golden orange color that is just stunning. I hope you are able to see some of it in this photo.  I also used some of the Solar Gold on her wings to give them a bit of sparkle.

Next I made a little sewing kit using two of our new dies, one is from the "Classic  Corners" set and the next is the "Ribbons and Bows Dressform" die.  Here is the link to see all of the new Dies by SCACD

I have used a small tin from the local craft store that you would put a gift card in, covered with some  dp and then used the new corner die which I embossed with silver powder and the gorgeous new dressmaker die which I then embellished with some Rouge liquid pearls. I am going to put some pre threaded needles, safety pins and a small pair of scissors in there and keep it at my desk. Alright, make sure you hop over to Kim's blog next, I can't wait to see what she made myself!

You can also go to the Follow Your Heart blog for a complete list of everyone in the hop and if you are international don't forget all of these products will be available at Quixotic Paperie.  Here is a direct link for the Dies by SCACD at Quixotic Paperie.
