Joans Gardens card

This card is for the challenge at Joans Gardens. I have not entered her challenges before but Patty (hey!) suggested I try so hear we go! The challenge this week is to use something green, punches, something for nature except for flowers and a background for our image. Tried to use a nestability but the image is too big so I hope inking around the edges qualifies. This is a CC designs stamp with My Minds Eye paper and some punches I believe from an ek success handheld punch. Got the acorns out of my backyard but I have to say that after I posted this I took them off and replaced them with some paper flowers. I like the acorns but was afraid to mail it for fear they would get knocked off being so bulky. This is a thank you card to a former patient and his wife who very nicely gave me some bathwash when I discharged him so wanted to let them know I appreciated it.

Cute card challenge

This is the card I worked on today. It is for the cute card challenge and since it is a chance to win some kraftin kimmie stamps I am there! This is a Greeting Farm stamp and since I throw all the packaging away cause I have too much stuff in my studio I have no idea what her name is. I forgot to put a flower in her hair cause I wanted a small crochet one but didn't have any in red then got sidetracked with the bling in the corners and forgot to go back and check my other flowers. I did paint some black enamel paint on her shoes from inkessentials, makes them nice and glossy. Almost time for Just Desserts so will need to sign off. I love all those food challenge shows, makes me want to decorate a cake.

Rotten cat!

This would be my youngest cat, Lucy. Or Lucyfur (aka female version of Lucifer). My climbing onto the top of my buffet and looking down at me cause I can't reach her and she isn't allowed up there. If she wasn't so darn cute...

Kenny K challenge

Second post for today! This is a birthday card for a friend who asked me the other day at work why she hasn't gotten a card yet. I asked her when her birthday is (we get an email list every month of upcoming birthdays) and she said....April! I was flabbergasted as I have tried really hard to make a card for pretty much everyone so then she tells me they still have her listed under her maiden name. Well duh! So anyways, this is a reeaally belated birthday card for Angela and I am also entering it into the Kenny K challenge which is to use 2 of something. Alright, time to grab a bagel and hit the road.

New calender

Morning everyone! This is a 2011 pocket calender I made for myself last night. It is from the dollar store and I just added some paper, jillibean I believe, and an image from prairiefairy designs. Being a nurse myself this little girl made me laugh. Sorry about the picture quality but there is reflection I believe from the plastic cover and I didn't want to try and pull it out again. Enjoy!

kraftin kimmie mermaid

Hi everyone! Hope the weather wherever you are was as beautiful as it was here today. And the Steelers won! Yeah! This is a card I made for one of my best friends, Kathy. She is a fellow nurse with me and we always joke that we must have been sisters in a previous life. She is one of the best and most intelligent people I know and I hope she enjoys her card. The paper is lemonade by Basic Grey with some bling on the side. I am happy with the card except for her hair. Just can't get that hair right but practice makes perfect, or at least better I hope!  I am entering this into the kraftin kimmie challengs this week which is based on a sketch so check it out and you might win a stamp!

Alright, I caved...

Evening everyone, I finally gave in and made a xmas card. Once I got to writing out my list of whom I want to send cards to I figured I better get busy! This is a mo manning image I believe it is called toboggan and I am entering it into her challenge this week. Her images are just about the best, definately one of my favorite sites. The card is very glittery but not sure if you can tell in the picture. The red stripes on the paper are glitter (and no I didn't do it by hand, it came that way) and the wooden snowflake in the corner I applied icicle stickles too. Just recieved a snowflake die set from my friend Elaine (hey!) so will try them out the next time. Not sure I care for both the dog and the sled both being brown so will also probably change the dog to gray. Ok, enough critique, enjoy the card.

Basic grey challenge

Okee dokee, post number two. Luckily I had this image colored up for awhile as I managed to catch a head cold last week and I couldn't even check my email cause my eyes hurt so bad. Horrors! I am going to enter this in the basic grey challenge which is to use a basic grey product and this paper is from the cappella collection. Soft and pretty brown, olive green, lilac and blue. No lilac on this card though, pretty sure the orange pumpkin would clash! Starting to think about making some xmas cards soon...

Welcome to your new home!

Well, for some reason this card looks a little fuzzy onscreen. Sometimes I think I am getting better with the photos of my cards and then other times, not so much! Anyways, this is for a friend who just bought her first home. There is a little saying inside but since I have already addressed it and put it in the envelope I refuse to open it up since I forgot to post first. But something along the lines of you can do anything your heart desires. Be back with a second post shortly since I still haven't figured out how to post two things at one time...

Have a drink on me!

Evening everyone! This is a bugaboo image I used for a birthday card for my friend Amy. We have a running joke about her drinking so I thought this would be appropriate, of course we all have warped senses of humor too! That is all I have gotten accomplished lately as I managed to develop a whopper of a headcold today. Was fine this morning, by lunch I can barely breath, sore throat and all that fun stuff so I guess it will be an early evening for me.

New cheap find...

Four posts in one day! Don't expect this very often, not sure why I am getting so much accomplished but I ain't complaining! Anyways, this is my card for Sassy Studio designs challenge which is to use pink. It doesn't look overly pink but there is pink paper matting her and pink in the background paper. I put two new items on her today, one is the snowflake button in the corner ($5.99 for a large bag at Michaels thank you very much) and I used tinsel glitter on the ball and brim of her hat. Of course being glittery it doesn't show but this stuff is really pretty in real life. I have put off buying it for awhile but today it was on sale and I thought for about $3 I can try it. I think it will be really pretty as snow on some xmas cards. Well, this might be it for today as I have to start getting stuff ready for work soon and finish up supper for the hubby.

Kenny K image

So this is the first card I finished today. It is a Kenny K image and I used glossy accents on her boots and some new inkessentials white glossy enamel for the highlights. This care looked better before I adhered the dp upside down! It is really dark in the bottom rt hand corner and I meant to put that under the bauble in the top to keep more red in the card but nope! had to put it on upside down and when you use an ATG gun to adhere stuff it ain't movin babe! So now my pretty swirl with the bling on it just sort of fades into the background. I gues I could have changed the color of the swirls but red is so darn hard to match. The orange/red around the edges of the image started out dark red as I used fired brick distress ink but for some reason it faded out to orange/red. I added a couple of more layers which deepened it up a bit but now I don't care for the contrast or something just looks wonky. And no Patty, I don't need to replace her with a maggie! Well, still gonna enter the challenge which is to bling it up and see if I can get something else accomplished on this rainy dreary day.

Card number 2!!!

Okee dokee, this is card number 2 that I finished today. She is of course a Greetings Farm stamp. I bought the ticket stamp in the corner from Whimsy Stamps and spritzed it with glimmer mist to make a better color. Can't really tell in the picture but it just have a nice shimmer to it in real life. The flowers are e-line also spritzed with glimmermist and stickles around the edges. I used my irock tool to add some bling at the bottom, but again it doesn't really pop in the picture. Ok, need to post number three!

Card number 3!

Ok everyone, this is the third card I made and I am honestly not sure which order it will show up in my blog cause I haven't read yet how to post all 3 images in one post. We shall see. Anywho, this is a fairy digi I bought that I did for the flutterby challenge (anything with wings) but pretty sure I am too late to post. Seems to be the story of my life lately but at least she is done. I believe her name is fairy fae but if you want to know where I got her let me know cause I will have to go back to my folder and check. Have bought a lot of digis lately and can't remember which one is from where! DP is prima, butterfly is maya road all glittered up and some wild orchid craft flowers. The leaves are some I got last year at Michaels and cut off of the stem. Ok, 2nd post either coming up or you already saw it (for heavens sake I really need to read my "blogging for Dummies" book).

Hunters birthday

This is the only card I actually finished for WCMD. It is for my nephews 15th birthday in a little over a week. Surprisingly I have it done early, I think it is only because I wanted to color up this image. This is from Kenny K's line of stamps. They are a little wild but I love them, just hard to find people to give them too that appreciate those type of images. Gonna try and do one of the women later and enter his challenge for the first time this week. You can't tell in the photo but I used glossy accents on his glasses and in the eyes of the skull. The skull is a Tim Holtz thing, kind of odd looking really but the only accent piece I had to match this image and I am trying to use what I have instead of buying more. Oh, and Patty, the 15 in the bottom corner is made with my epiphany crafts epoxy making punch so you know what we have been chatting about. I keep saying I am gonna do some xmas cards but I tell you the truth, I just can't get into xmas yet. If I do then by the time it gets here I am ready to be done so I think I will wait until next month to start on xmas cards. That sounds better then I putzed around all week and didn't make any don't ya think?! But it is the truth too.

Later everyone
