Get well soon

Hey everyone! Just a little card I whipped up for a coworker who had surgery recently. Used a lili of the valley stamp and some jillibean paper and a little black lace. Copics to color on Neenah paper with Memento tuxedo black for the stamping.

Still working on the picture taking aspect. Sent an email to Jeanie from http://www.thespottedchick.blogspot.com/ cause her pictures (and cards of course) are great! She very generously wrote me back and have ordered the light tent and need to pick up the daylight bulbs she recommended so will try those out and let you know if it helps.

Just an FYI, if ever you need inspiration check out the blogs at stamping bella. I thought I had lost my inspiration then I found them and I have made more cards with better results in the past couple months than I have in the past couple of years. And I have written to Linda, Paula and Jeanie and they have all been kind enough to write me back. To me it is liking talking to a movie star!

Ok, gonna start on the stamping bella challenge for friday, I believe it is animals.

Last challenge

Hey everyone, well this card is the one I made for the final challenge for stamping bella. They are looking for a new sistah and I have been submitting faithfully every week but when you see the cards I am up against I ain't holding my breath! Anyways, thought if I was gonna have any chance at all I might as well go full force and just put on my card that I think they should pick me. Didn't notice til now that you can see the top of the stand where I take my pictures and that it is a little blurry. May need to get a tripod and see if that helps as I have a really good camera. It couldn't possibly be the operator could it?

Enjoy your day!

Me too!

Another post today, I am on a roll! Kinda sad that is considered exciting news ha ha! Anyways, made this card for a friend who wanted to know why she hadn't gotten a card yet. I try to make a birthday card for most of the girls in the office where I work and so I told her it wasn't her birthday yet so she hadn't gotten a card yet. Well, she is leaving in a couple of weeks, moving down south with the hubby to be closer to his job, so I made her this card using a mo manning image. I thought the image and saying were perfect for someone "wanting a card too!" Actually, I was tickled pink to have someone think enough of my work to actually ask for a card. Makes me feel pretty darn good I have to say. Then to top things off, one of the other girls gave me my first "commission". I am actually doing it for free cause it is for another girl who is retiring but still to be asked makes ya feel pretty darn good! Okee dokee, enjoy your weekend!

CHOICES PART 2

Okay, this is the second shot and fiddling with the photo software so let me upload this and see if there is a difference between the two.

CHOICES, CHOICES

Hey everyone, I took two pictures of the same card and have playing around with them in my Picasa photo editing program so I wanted to upload both and see if it made any difference. I can't really tell on the program itself. So this is card number one. I used a stamp from lili of the valley, colored in copics with some shimmerz (thanks lynn!) and stickles for some bling. Have to load the second one so will be back in a second.

There is some great blog candy out there folks! This is just half of the blog candy from http://athousandsheetsofpaper.blogspot.com. The other half is, 1000 sheets of paper! I have to tell you, people are becoming so generous anymore that it makes me happy just thinking about how life is good if only people try to take time to see the good parts and not dwell on the bad times. Anyways, pop over and leave her a comment. Someone has to win, right? Might as well be us!!!

Fabulous blog candy!

Hey everyone, my friend Vanessa (hey girl!) sent me a link to a great blog with some spectacular blog candy. I can't seem to figure out how to post the picture on my blog but here is the link http://www.kelliewinnell.com.au This is some of the most generous blog candy I have ever seen. Good luck!

This is my next stamping bella card for the friday challenge. This didn't come out very clear for some reason, just don't know what I am doing wrong. Maybe I am more shaky than I think but the card looks good until I put it into my picasa program and blog it. Technology talented I am not! Anyways, this is a stamp called Izzie has a daisy. I went back to my copics as I seem to be able to blend better with them. The background papers are memory box "enchanted" and I use a spellbinders fleur de lis die for the diamond shape. I stitched around the edges and applied some bling in the corners cause it needed a little somethin somethin. Her hairband I did first with a black sakura glaze pen but that didn't turn out so well so I covered it up with some viva decor pearl pen paint and it looks better, even a little dimensional. There is a chalked color to the background of the image, a pale lavender with a slight pearlescence to it, but of course it didn't show up either! That camera and I are gonna have a talking too! Ok, that is it for now, enjoy the rest of your weekend. I have had my nap and tonite is the Next Food Network Star finale so I should be good to go!

Here is my stamping bella image for this weeks challenge, it is all about bling! I don't believe you can tell in the picture but I used atyou spica glitter pens on the hem of her dress and to outline the butterflies around her head, the scalloped border (by fiskars) is punched out of glittered cardstock and I glittered up the butterfly, it is a chipboard butterfly by maya road. The glitter looks pretty dark in the picture but it is a pretty combo of purple and turquoise and matches the dp perfectly. First time I tried using prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I like the color combo but couldn't get the colors to blend into one another very well. If the first time you don't succeed...

OOPS! and bling!

Hi everyone! I started this card Monday evening and was pretty happy with the way the image turned out but this is the OOPS I told you about last post where I had the "not so bright" idea to put tack it over and over close inside my nestabilities. Well, needless to say I messed up an entire corner of the image where I tried to rub off the glue that stuck, therefore, paper roses to the rescue! Not sure who made this paper, the cardbase is more of a turquoise green, the colors look a little funky here. The image is Izzie has a daisy by stamping bella. Just got my order from them and I am one happy camper. Now I just have to stamp out all of the bonus saying stamps she sent me so I can read them....

OMG! Paula Williamson wrote me a note!

No picture (yet) but just wanted to share my news. And I know to a lot of you this means absolutely nothing but I sent an email to Paula Williamson (of stamping bella fame) and she wrote me back! I know she doesn't follow my blog so she won't think I am creepy or anything but I was on cloud nine today! Just a simple little Hi Amanda and a little chit chat but boy did it make my day. How nice that such a simple gesture could make someone so happy. Or maybe I just need to get out more...

On another note, I colored up an image tonite, tried the colored pencils and gamsol, inspiration by Paula of course, and it came out pretty well. Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to cut it out using my nestabilities. Well, I have a hard time keeping my stamped image in the nestability when I am moving it to emboss etc so I had the "bright" idea to add some Tack it Over and over glue to the inner edges thinking that would help. Well, it did but perhaps a little too much because when I popped it out I had little bits of residue all around the edges. Not a big problem, that is what fingernails are for! So I rubbed and rubbed and got most of it off then decided to see if a baby wipe would get the last little bit off, well all it did was raise the nap of the paper and wipe off a bit of my ink. Darn it! Guess I will have to slap a flower on that spot!

Enough rambling, just wanted to share my happy news and my warning!

This is the other reason. Sinbad is laying in the window in front of my countertop that I work at. We call him the moth hunter because he jumps at the windows whenever he sees a bug. Somewhat distracting when you are trying to color!

Well, today I made a trip to my lss just cause I haven't been there in awhile and came home with a bunch of paper, some maya road chipboard and some velvet flowers. They don't have much as far as stamps go, mostly geared towards scrapbookers which I have never been. Tomorrow I have a baby shower to attend and make a quickie card tonite for the shower. For some reason it looks kinda dirty in the photo but it is a nice clean white, I'm not much into grunge! I believe the paper is DCWV nursery stack and the image is a penny black stamp from a few years ago. Hope everyone is having a good weekend and now I am gonna start on my stamping bella image so I am not doing it an hour before the deadline.... not a good thing!

TGIF!!!

Hey everyone, so glad it is finally friday! This has just been a very busy week for me which I think I mentioned yesterday but being friends and all I am sure you don't mind hearing it again, right? Anyways, my plans for the weekend are to start on my stamping bella card early instead of rushing to get it done, the challenge next friday is bling and I love my bling! Have a few more birthday cards to get done and hopefully take a picture of to post so you can see them. Still not getting the greatest pictures in the world so if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them. I can take constructive criticism, sort of, kind of...

Anyhoo, this is a little message to Vanessa, your cake will be great I am sure of it and if there is any problems just tell them it was under siege right before you served it!

Enjoy your weekend and will try to put up some more pictures for your viewing "pleasure".

What a week...

Well, here is my card for the stamping bella challenge for this week, not my best work by far but at least I did the challenge. The challenge this week was to paper piece a card. I used yellow cardstock for the basket with some added lines for definition with my copic liner pen and paper pieced the pants and the shirt. I just couldn't seem to get this card to come together well no matter how I arranged things. Too much of a rush this week between work, making a birthday cake and two birthday cards for friends. How soon is that weekend coming??? I don't have the name of the papers as they came in a precut 6x6 stack of various papers with an order I had placed somewhere along the line!
